OpenVPX chassis combines optical and RF connectors
Embedded computing and enclosure company, Pixus Technologies, has announced a 6U OpenVPX chassis platform with a mix of VITA 66.4 optical connectors and VITA 67.3 RF connectors.
The open frame chassis has a six-slot 6U OpenVPX backplane with RF and optical connector cutouts. The specialty connectors can optionally be installed by Pixus. The OpenVPX connectors are pass-through and the backplane can be loaded to various requirements, with slots positions populated or unpopulated as needed. There are 3U versions also available.
The chassis includes a modular power supply for up to six VPX voltages. Card guides that accept conduction-cooled boards are optional. Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) modular open suite of standards (CMOSS) and Sensor Open Standard Architecture (SOSA) options are available from Pixus Technologies.
Pixus also supplies backplanes, chassis platforms, and specialty products in various modular open standard architectures. The company provides enclosure solutions in 19-inch rackmount, ATR/rugged, development, and specialty small form factor designs.
Pixus Technologies is comprised of industry experts in electronics packaging. It was founded in 2009 by senior management from Kaparel, a Rittal company. Pixus Technologies’ embedded backplanes and systems are focused primarily on ATCA, OpenVPX, MicroTCA, and custom designs. Pixus also has a portfolio of VME-based and cPCI-based solutions. In May 2011, Pixus Technologies became the sole authorised North and South American supplier of the electronic packaging products previously offered by Kaparel and Rittal.
