Osram SPL SxL90A lasers are now available at Mouser
Distributor Mouser Electronics is now offering the SPL S1L90A and SPL S4L90A lasers from Osram Opto Semiconductors. The high-power, infra red surface mount components feature a 905nm laser wavelength for use in autonomous vehicles and other light detection and ranging (lidar) applications.
The SPL S1L90A and SPL S4L90A lasers offer a typical output of 120W at 40A per channel, at up to 33 per cent efficiency. The lasers have low thermal resistance, allowing heat to dissipate easily even when operating at high currents.
There is a single-channel version, the SPL S1L90A and a four-channel laser, the SPL S4L90A. The four-channel laser is available to order and delivers is suitable for an extended detection range as it delivers optical power at 480W.
The SPL S1L90A and SPL S4L90A lasers enable short pulse widths of around two nanoseconds or less, says Mouser. The lasers are qualified according to AEC-Q102 guidelines. The compact form factor makes them a suitable choice for space-constrained vehicle design, as well as for use in industrial sensing, control and automation, CCTV surveillance, 3D sensing and pedestrian protection applications. The package design ensures precise mechanical alignment during assembly, as well as a very low inductance to ensure short pulses for best results in high- and low-volume applications, says Mouser.
