Panel PC is medical-grade for bedside use

Designed for human machine interface (HMI) and hospital bedside terminals, the Meds-P1000 is a 10.1-inch panel PC from Medwel, a Portwell subsidiary.

The Meds-P1000 is based on the NXP quad core Cortex-A9 1.0GHz Freescale i.MX6 processor. It is suitable for use as a bedside healthcare infotainment terminal in hospital and medical equipment and is equipped with peripherals including RFID, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. These peripherals are mainly for the nurse, doctor or patients’ family to check patients’ information and also serve as an HMI to be integrated within medical equipment. The terminal design lets medical personnel download and view medical information and data.

The Meds-P1000 panel PC supports up to 2Gbyte DDR3 memory and can be equipped with 8Gbyte eMMC, one HDMI, two USB ports and one COM port for RS-232 on rear I/O.

It is compact in design, measuring 274 x 213 x 38mm (11.8 x 8.4 x 1.5-inch. It has low power consumption for use as a bedside terminal solution. Android 6.0 support, PCAP multi-touchscreen and connectivity options for communication and peripheral devices are listed as highlights.

The front of the plastic housing complies with IP65 and supports anti-disinfectant wiping, making the panel PC easy to clean and sterilise, reducing maintenance costs and contamination risks, says Medwel.
