Parallel parametric test system smooths production ramp up, says Keysight
Design and validation company, Keysight, has announced the P9002A parallel parametric test system. It is claimed to provide high throughput and cost effective wafer test to accelerate time to market in R&D and lowers the cost of testing in manufacturing.
It was developed in response to the need for manufacturers to quickly ramp up capacity. This has been partly fuelled by the global semiconductor shortage, which has created a growing demand in the automotive industry, as well as digital devices and home appliances. Another factor is rapid innovation in semiconductors which presents the industry with a variety of technical challenges to adapt new materials, as well as miniaturisation and 3D packaging processes. In addition, the complicated device design to target commercial applications like 5G, data centre, artificial intelligence (AI) and automotive are increasing test parameters, explains Keysight.
The P9002A parallel parametric test system offers cost-effective wafer test with high throughput, as well as a flexible option structure for up to 100 channels parallel test resources, including test capabilities for parametric tests at each test resource.
It provides software compatibility with SPECS software on 4080 series parametric testers, enables customers to use existing test programs and test plans with data correlations.
Features of the P9002A parallel parametric test system include the ability to add options based on test requirements; there is a license structure for cost-effective budgeting.
Its parametric test technologies and fast capacitance measurement generate improved throughput over the 4080 series parametric testers, says Keysight.
There is system compatibility and data correlation with Keysight’s 4080 series parametric tester, enabling customers to use existing tester programs, test plans and probe cards with 4080-compatible probe card adapter.
