Plastic, circular connector can do more in medical applications, says ODU
Now available in a 3.5 size, the Medi-Snap plastic, circular connector is reliable and touch-proof for medical, test and measurement and industrial electronics applications, says ODU.
The 3.5 connector offers hybrid and high-pole options and can be rapidly adapted in the application design to the customer’s individual needs. The plastic housing minimises the weight of the connector.
For the hybrid option, the modular design can be combined with special inserts to offer space for more signals in combination with the transmission of power and fluids. Customised versions can accommodate additional media such as coax or fibre optics. A signal-only version accommodates 41 contacts.
The connector is characterised by a easy connection by push-pull locking system and has patient protection according to IEC 60601-1: 2 MOPP and 2 MOOP.
Sealed or unsealed straight plugs are offered in combination with sealed or unsealed receptacles for front or rear panel mounting.
ODU offers push-pull connectors, cables with matching termination and optional labelling.
The Medi-Snap size 3.5 can be used for test equipment, battery balancers, defibrillators, robot connections, endoscopes, LED devices, entertainment systems or uninterruptible power supplies.
