Powell Electronics signs distribution deal with Harwin

Powell Electronics, which specialises in mechanical and electro-mechanical parts has signed a distribution agreement with connector manufacturer, Harwin.

The US based distributor has an EMEA presence with an office in the Netherlands. The distribution agreement covers Harwin’s high-rel connector products, including the Gecko, Datamate and M300 ranges. It will also meet customers’ value-added needs with cable assembly solutions. All of these products will be available direct from stock or with very short lead times.

Headquartered in New Jersey, Powell Electronics operates in the defence, energy and military and civilian aerospace markets. The company reports a rapidly expanding customer base and a strong web-based sales channel with sales and application engineering staff offering technical and logistical support.

Gavin Darling, head of European sales at Harwin said of Powell: “The company’s growing reputation here in Europe, following its 70 years’ of success as a distributor in North America, speaks for itself.”

Andy Brayford, European applications manager at Powell Electronics added: “This distribution deal represents a huge boost to our line card, complementing our existing offerings perfectly. We’re looking forward to making inroads into exciting new application areas”.

Harwin produces high reliability interconnect products for the defence, aerospace, space, industrial, oil and gas and motorsport sectors. Over the last 65 years, the company says it has set benchmarks in terms of innovation, automation and service, through ongoing investment in advanced equipment and the training of its staff.

All these products are available with short lead times via Harwin’s sales and distribution network. Harwin has sales offices and manufacturing facilities in the UK, the USA, Germany, France and Singapore.
