Power connector range has ergonomic locking plugs
Cliff Electronics now offers a locking connector as part of its CliffCon power connector range. The range CliffCon-P range consists of a power input plug and socket, a power output plug and socket and an inline cable extension coupler.
The ergonomically shaped locking power input and output plugs are colour coded, blue for power in and grey for power out. Different keyways prevent accidental insertion of the incorrect plug. The chassis mounting sockets are designed to fit into industry standard 26mm XLR cut-outs, matching the range of standard and FeedThrough connectors already available from Cliff.
The CliffCon-P input/output (I/O) coupler may be used to extend cable lengths and features dust caps on both sockets to prevent the ingress of dust or contamination when not in use.
The CliffCon-P range is rated at 20A rms at 250V AC and is suitable for use in applications including broadcast, auditorium installations, lighting, LED display, signage and videowall systems and industrial equipment.
The CliffCon-P range provides installers of fixed and temporary installations a locking power connector with the option of extending cable runs for use at different locations, explains the company. The XLR-sized sockets match the range of other connector types simplifying panel design.
Cliff’s XLR format connectors take advantage of the standard 24mm panel cut-out widely used in audio and broadcast systems and which is increasing popular in instrumentation, medical and industrial applications due to its flexibility, security and reliability. Blank socket plates are also now available for customers to create custom connector solutions.
All versions of Cliff’s XLR footprint connectors are in full production and available direct from Cliff and via major distributors in the UK and Europe.
