Power supply for medical/industrial use has cooling options
Power supply distributor, Fidus Power, offers a miniature industrial and medically-approved, flexibly-cooled power supply range.
The series of 3.0 x 5.0 inch power supplies can deliver 250W when conduction-cooled or 550W fan-cooled. Models in the series are approved for industrial and medical use.
Using a two-level PCB construction, the power supplies have a baseplate with all the key semiconductors attached, allowing direct cooling into the system chassis, heatsink or cold wall. They have efficiencies up to 92 per cent and the ability to remove heat to the outside world, ensuring that minimal waste heat is generated into the system and the ability to keep internal ambient temperature rise to a minimum.
The power supplies have a 90 to 264V AC input range and six models are available with 12 to 58V DC output, with a built-in 12V fan rail. Both industrial and medical versions meet EN55032 level B. The industrial unit is also is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA60950-1, while the medical unit also meets medical 4th Edition EMC levels and is certified to IEC/EN/CSA60601-1 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1.
Applications include broadcast, outdoor communications, medical devices, sealed enclosures and industrial.
