Precision laser machines reduce qualification time
Pre-programmed process parameters for an application reduce integration and qualification time, claims Coherent as it launches ExactCut, the first in a series of precision laser machines.
Tporhe ExactCut is the first product in Coherent’s ExactSeries of fine materials processing equipment. ExactCut micromachining systems combine intelligence, integration, and interconnectivity for precision cutting of metals, alloys, sapphire, polycrystalline diamond (PCD), and ceramics.
The ready-to-use laser machine is suitable for manufacturing applications for medical devices, electronics, automotive, and horology. ExactCut systems combine the latest generation of pulsed fiber laser sources (300W / 3kW pulse peak), a high stability granite motion module and a human interface with intelligent and intuitive software to simplify the entry of parameter and process recipes. This input feature is particularly useful for short or prototype production runs and rapid changeovers. The ExactCut is designed for easy integration into high volume production, with a variety of interfaces for specialty tooling, rotary or linear stages, part handling robotics, and conveyor belts.
ExactCut systems also feature sophisticated remote diagnostics and predictive maintenance, and are supported by Coherent’s worldwide service infrastructure.
