Princeps and Hammond Manufacturing sign distribution agreement
The full standard range of Hammond electrical enclosures and customisation services are now available from Princeps.
The specialist distributor of obsolete and difficult-to-source electronic, electrical and e-mech components has signed an authorised distribution agreement with Hammond Manufacturing to supply its portfolio of electrical enclosures, which can also be modified and customised in-house to suit specific customer requirements.
The range includes models in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, polycarbonate, GRP and ABS.
The enclosures are manufactured by Hammond in a range of sizes and supplied with accessories to protect electrical and electronic installations. The range includes (depending on IP and IK rating) models that are waterproof, resistant to particle ingress such as dust or chemical sprays and robust enough to withstand other hazards found in commercial and industrial environments.
Hammond has the in-house capability to modify any of its enclosures to suit challenging designs. Customisation services include non-standard sizes, alternative materials, cut-outs, punched holes, louvres, pre-installed accessories, hinge changes, special paint colours and silk screening.
David Nash, sales director, Princeps, commented: “Hammond’s in-house customisation service saves time and effort: instead of having to carry out modifications or sub-contract thus work out themselves, we work with our customers to understand their requirements, assist with modification drawings if necessary and supply the Hammond enclosure with everything done”. This capability streamlines processes for customers, saves time, effort and cost, he added. In a recent project, said Nash, the company saved a customer in the rail industry 60 per cent compared with the cost of buying a standard enclosure and having modifications carried out by a third party.
Princeps simplifies the sourcing of safe, traceable, hard-to-find and obsolete components for customers in the hi-rel sector, including aerospace and defence, mass transit, medical and other advanced industries. It holds both AS9120 and AS6081-accreditations and is the trusted single-source supplier of parts from thousands of manufacturers, taking responsibility for counterfeit mitigation, obsolescence management and smoothing supply chain issues for its customers. The company also offers kitting solutions, including full project management and vendor tail reduction.
