PVL says Fanfir Torrix XTS sensor is maintenance-free

No recalibration is needed for the Torrix XTS fill level sensor, says PVL. The industrial automation distributor now offers the sensor from Fanfir, with is claimed to be maintenance-free and which does not require recalibration, minimising cost of ownership.

The Torrix XTS offers pure level measurement of the product and/or interface layer, together with options for temperature and density measurement. Users can set an integrated LCD to show the desired parameters.

Different versions of the probe tube offer a range of application possibilities. The Torrix XTS can be used with a standard 12mm tube, a bypass version and a flexible probe with a maximum length of 22m.

Other key features include a stainless-steel sensor head housing offering protection to IP68, safety glass display cover, operating temperature -20 to + 85 degrees C or – 55 to + 85 degrees C with heating. Probe tube material stainless steel in lengths from 600mm up to 22,000mm are available.

According to PVL, the accuracy level is up to ±0.3mm or ±0.01 per cent, with resolution of 0.1 mm. Operating voltage is 12 to 30V DC/ 12 to 50V DC with an output signal of 4.0 to 20mA (two-wire) version / Hart-protocol and there is also an RS-485 (four-wire /Modbus or FAFNIR Universal Device Protocol. Process conditions temperature is up to + 450 degrees Cm, with pressure from -1 bar to +120 bar. The sensor is approved to Ex-Zone 0 (ATEX, IECEx), for use in the most hazardous workplaces.

The integrated LCD shows data interpretation. “As an all in one it offers our customers the capability of continuously measuring the product level, interphase, density and temperature, and volume calculation is also possible,” said Steve Moorey, MD of PVL.

PVL is a UK distributor for major manufacturers worldwide of pressure switches, vacuum switches, flow switches, level switches, level sensors, pressure transducers, pressure gauges, flow meters, float valves, level sensors, temperature switches and handheld instruments. The company also offers a full range of ATEX products.
