RA6M4 microcontrollers enhance security, says Mouser
Now available from Mouser, the MCUs, RA6M4 32-bit microcontrollers from Renesas Electronics offer enhanced security for IoT and industrial applications. They are defined by connectivity, security, and performance characteristics, says the company and are designed to speed the development of edge and endpoint IoT devices, as well as applications such as metering, HVAC, enhanced premises security, and industrial equipment.
The Renesas RA6M4 microcontrollers are built on an efficient 40nm process and offer power efficiency with 99 microA/MHz in active mode. The microcontrollers boast a 200MHz Arm Cortex-M33 core based on the Armv8-M architecture with Arm TrustZone technology. It also integrates 1Mbyte of code flash memory, 256kbytes of SRAM, and a capacitive touch sensing unit.
The RA6M4 devices are designed to offer outstanding security capabilities, including an integrated security cryptography module with several accelerators, power analysis resistance, and tamper detection. The microcontrollers are supported by Renesas’ Flexible Software Package (FSP), which allows customers to reuse legacy code and combine it with software from other Arm partners. The package enables the rapid implementation of complex security and connectivity functions, says Mouser. The FSP also offers tools to increase efficiency, accelerating the development process for projects targeting the RA6M4 microcontrollers.
Mouser also stocks the RA6M4 evaluation kit, which offers native pin access through four 40-pin male headers, as well as access to Ethernet connectivity, 64Mbytes of external Octo-SPI flash, and 32Mbytes of external quad-SPI flash.
