Rack-mount network appliance protects and boosts packet performance
Equipped with 14 LANs and supported by the Intel Data Plane development kit, the NA363R is the latest 1U, rack-mount network appliance form Axiomtek.
It offers Intel QuickAssist technology and high processing performance through the Intel Atom processor C3558/C3758 (Denverton). It comes with six 10, 100 or 1,000 Mbits per second LAN ports using an Intel i210 Ethernet controller and one expandable LAN module slot for a maximum of 14 LAN ports. There are also two pairs of latch-type LAN bypass functions to protect important communications during power outages as well as BIOS console redirection for efficient management, adds Axiomtek. The network security appliance provides high security and reliability with power-efficient for virtual private networks (VPN), network bandwidth controller, firewall and unified threat management (UTM) applications.
Bruce Cheng, a product manager of Product PM division at Axiomtek, said: “It supports the Intel QuickAssist Technology, which accelerates data processing and compresses cryptographic workloads. The network appliance also features the Intel Data Plane development kit, which greatly boosts packet processing performance and throughput to improve data plane performance.” The durable 1U rack-mount form factor means the NA363R saves space in small and medium business environments and applications.
The NA363R runs on Yocto and Linux. IT is also equipped with four DDR4 R-DIMM/U-DIMM sockets that can provide system memory of up to 128Gbytes. Two 2.5-inch SATA3 hard disk drive/solid state drive (HDD/SSD) and one mSATA are provided for storage. The rack-mount network communication platform also has two USB 2.0 ports and a serial console port. A watchdog timer features 255 stepping for system reset and eigh stepping for LAN bypass. The NA363R is FCC- and CE-certified.
