Recom adds 12V and 48V models to RACM600-L models

Two models with enhanced peak power ratings have been added by Recom to its RACM600-L range.

The cost-effective RACM600-L series of AC/DCs with 24V DC output has been joined by models with 12V and 48VDC outputs and an enhanced peak power rating of 800W for dynamic loads. The open frame / U channel of AC/DC converters are available in a 7.7 x 4.0 (195 x 100mm) footprint and 1U (1.75 inch) high. They support pure convection cooled ratings of up to 430W continuous output where contact cooling is not an option and 600W continuous with airflow.

Input is universal 80 to 275V AC and an additional always on standby output is provided rated 5V at 0.5A. Parts may be paralleled and other features include gating diodes and active current sharing. Remote on/off, PSU-Good and remote sensing signals are provided as is a PMBus interface.

Certifications for the RACM600-L include IEC / EN / UL 62368-1 for IT / multimedia and IEC / EN / ANSI / AAMI 60601-1 for medical, with a 2MOPP rating and low leakage current for body floating (BF) patient-connect applications. Certifications are valid for operation to 5000m for IT / multimedia and to 3000m for medical applications. EMC ‘Class B’ limits are achieved with a good margin and 90+ efficiency rating is met, up to 93 per cent.

Operating temperature is from -20 to +70 degrees C with derating dependent on airflow and input voltage. The peak load rating of 800W can be used with different duty cycles and repetition rates to meet requirements.

Typical applications for the RACM600-L AC/DC converters are medical patient monitoring and industrial test and measurement, where reliability and up-time are vital and versatile cooling and mounting options are needed, said Recom.

Parts include a three-year warranty. Samples and OEM pricing is available from all authorised distributors, or directly from Recom.

Recom Power manufactures a range of standard and customised DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class from sub-1W to tens of kW, alongside switching regulators and LED drivers in a wide selection of formats.

The company headquarters are located in Gmunden, Austria, and include a logistics, research and development centre and laboratory wing. The company is supported by a worldwide distribution network.
