Recom adds to RACxx family with 15W and 25W models
Two board mount AC/DC converters, rated at 15 and 25W expand Recom’s RACxx range. The RAC15-K/480 and the RAC25-K/480 operate at up to 528V AC in harsh conditions.
The two, cost-effective, board-mount AC/DC converters both have an input range of 85 to 528V AC. They join Recom’s RAC05-K/480, a 5W AC/DC converter, also with an input range of 85 to 528V AC.
The new AC/DC converters are available with outputs of 5.0, 12, 15 and 24V. They are fully protected against short circuits, over-current and over-voltage. The converters are certified as limited power source (LPS) according to IEC 62368-1 and can be used in over-voltage category III (OVC III) applications in pollution degree 3 (PD3) environments up to 5000m altitude.
They are also certified to IEC/EN 61010 and the parts are EN 55035 and EN 55032 Class B EMI-compliant, with floating outputs. Efficiency is up to 87 per cent, allowing operation from -40 to +70 degrees C ambient without derating (60 degrees C for the RAC15-K/480) and to 90 degrees C with reduced power. To meet eco-design requirements, no-load power consumption is less than 0.3W.
The RAC15-K/480 measures 2.0 x 1.6 x 1.0 inches (approximately 50 x 41 x 25mm)and the RAC25-K/480 measures 3.2 x 1.8 x 1.2 inches (approximately 81 x 46 x 30mm). Both are supplied in a silicone-free encapsulated package with industry standard footprints.
Applications include housekeeping in EV chargers, smart grid or smart metering, IoT, renewable energy, sensor and actuator power.
The wide input range covers line to line and line to neutral in single and three phase supplies, said the company.
