Recom combines AC/DC supply and IEC mains filter
An all in one AC/DC power supply in an IEC mains filter housing has been announced by Recom. The company has fitted a universal AC input power supply inside the case of a standard IEC mains filter for safe and touchable DC outputs in a format that is easy to install.
The RAC05-K/C14 fits a complete 5W power supply into a standard C14 mains filter housing, without altering the case size. The innovative design is offered at a lower cost than many power supplies or mains filters alone. It uses a standard IEC kettle connector mounting hole, to reduce installation time to only a few seconds.
The touchable output terminals are safe extra-low voltage (SELV) available in 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15 and 24V DC output voltages and are protected against short circuits, over-load and over-voltage. The metal case offers secure fixing and enhances the thermal dissipation for an operating temperature between -40 to +60 degrees C without derating.
The RAC05-K/C14 is particularly well-suited for powering single board computers (SBCs) such as the Raspberry Pi (including touchscreen), Arduino and BBC Micro:bit. The AC/DC power supply is CE-marked and EN/IEC/UL-certified. Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorised distributors or directly from Recom.
Recom Power supplies a range of DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class up to 960W alongside switching regulators and LED drivers in a wide selection of designs. The company’s R-78 switching regulators have become industry standard.
