Richardson RFPD adds Empower RF Systems’ solid state amplifier
Suitable for broadband mobile jamming, communications and bench test applications, the 1205/BBM3K5OEL is suitable for broadband mobile jamming, communications, general test, and band-specific applications from 500 to 2700MHz. The solid state, high power amplifier from Empower RF Systems is now available from Richardson RFPD.
The 1205/BBM3K5OEL is a compact module which uses high-power advanced GaN devices that provide power density, high efficiency, wide dynamic range and low distortion. Performance, long-term reliability and high efficiency are features that are achieved by employing advanced broadband RF matching networks and combining techniques, EMI/RFI filters, machined housings and qualified components, explains Richardson.
The amplifier features instantaneous broadband performance, as well as built-in control, monitoring and protection circuits.
Additional key features of the 1205/BBM3K5OEL include an operating frequency range of 500 to 2700MHz and a power output CW (Psat) of 30W. Power output at 1.0dB gain compression is 20W. Small signal gain is 48dB and small signal gain flatness is ±1.0dB.
Operating voltage is 28V with 50-Ohm input/output (I/O) impedance.
Dimensions of the 1205/BBM3K5OEL are 6.0 x 3.0 x 1.0-inches.
