Richardson RFPD introduces GaN power amplifier from ADI

Able to delivers +45.4dBm (35 W) with 35 per cent power added efficiency, the HMC8205BF10 from Analog Devices is now available from Richardson RFPD.

The distributor offers full design support capabilities for the GaN power amplifier. The HMC8205BF10 delivers +45.5dBm (35 W) across an instantaneous bandwidth of 0.3 to 6.0GHz. Richardson points out that no external matching is required to achieve full band operation, and no external inductor is required to bias the amplifier. Integrated DC blocking capacitors for the RF in and RF out pins are included.

The GaN PA is suitable for pulsed or continuous wave applications, including military jammers, wireless infrastructure and radar, as well as general-purpose amplification.

It is supplied in a 10-lead LDCC package.

An evaluation board for the HMC8205BF10 is also available.
