Richardson RFPD introduces Macom’s DOCSIS 3.1 CATV amplifier

Distributor Richardson RFPD, announces the availability and full design support capabilities for a new RF amplifier for CATV applications from Macom Technology Solutions.

The MAAM-011220 provides 18dB of flat gain while biased at either 8.0 or 5.0V. The amplifier is claimed to provide excellent linearity, high gain, low noise and low distortion, making it suited for use in 75-Ohm infrastructure applications, says Richardson.

The MAAM-011220 is fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology and is assembled in a SOT-89 plastic package. It is single stage, single-ended with 130mA (8.0V) or 110mA operation for the 5.0V model.

Noise gain is 2.6dB at 50 to 100MHz and 2.4dB at 100 to 1218MHz.

Richardson RFPD is an Arrow Electronics company, specialising in the RF and wireless communications, power conversion and renewable energy markets. It brings relationships with many of the industry’s top RF and power component suppliers. It has design centres around the world, which, with its technical sales team, can provide support to design components or engineer complete solutions.
