Richardson RFPD offers Skyworks’ front-end module
Front-end modules for automotive V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2X (vehicle to everything) connectivity by Skyworks Solutions are now available from Richardson RFPD.
The SKYA21043 integrated 5.9GHz module complies to 802.11p dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) as well as the C-V2X applications and systems, says Richardson RFPD, an Arrow Electronics company.
The integrated, 5.0GHz front end module incorporates a 5.0GHz single pole, double throw (SPDT) transmit / receive switch, a 5.0GHz high gain, low noise amplifier with bypass and a 5.0GHz power amplifier for 802.11p DSRC and C-V2X applications and systems.
The low noise amplifier and power amplifier disable functions ensure low leakage current in the off mode, says Richardson RFPD. An integrated logarithmic power detector is included to provide closed loop power control over 20dB of dynamic range.
The module is supplied in a compact, 24-pin 3.0 x 5.0mm shielded land grid array (LGA) package, which may reduce the front-end board space by more than 50 per cent, says Richardson.
Qualified to AEC-Q100 (Grade 2), the SKYA21043 meets rugged reliability requirements for automotive applications including V2V and V2X.
