Richardson RFPD supports ADI’s low emission Silent Switch regulators
Silent Switcher regulators from Analog Devices’ (ADI’s) portfolio of Power by Linear are now available from Richardson RFPD. The compact, low emission, high speed synchronous monolithic step down regulators can be specified for noise-sensitive and space-critical applications. They are available from the distributor now, with full design support capabilities also offered.
The Silent Switchers offer high efficiency at high switching frequencies while maintaining low EMI emissions. According to the company, they bring new levels of performance for synchronous step down DC/DC converters.
Maximum input voltages ranging from 8.0 to 65V make them suitable for applications that require from 1.0 up to 15A of output current, including automotive, industrial and communications systems applications.
The Silent Switcher family uses special design and packaging techniques to offer 95 per cent efficiency at 2.0MHz while easily passing the CISPR 25 Class 5 Peak EMI limits, confirms Richardson RFPD.
Silent Switcher 2 adds internal bypass capacitors and an integrated substrate to further improve EMI that is not sensitive to PCB layout, thus simplifying designs and reducing performance risks even when using two-layer PC boards. The featured LT8650S is a dual-channel, 4.0A, 42V, synchronous step down Silent Switcher 2 with a 6.2microA quiescent current.
The devices are available now.
