RS Components adds 35 to 150W chassis-mount SMPS family
RS Components extends its Pro portfolio with the introduction of more than 80 chassis-mount switched-mode power supplies (SMPS).
The range covers power ratings from 15 to 1,000W and a choice of fixed, single DC output at 5.0, 12, 24, 36 or 48V. The outputs are regulated within ±10 per cent, with ripple and noise as low as 120mVp-p at 12V.
The SMPS reach efficiency of more than 90 per cent for some variants, says RS Components. No-load power consumption is as low as 0.2W, depending on the power rating. There is also fast rise time, low in-rush current, and long hold-up time. The lightweight and compact construction is offered in enclosed or open-frame configurations. Size and weight are pared down to 99 x 82 x 30mm and 0.23kg for the 35W models. The 150W models’ dimensions are 159 x 97 x 30mm and 0.48kg.
Safety features include hiccup-mode short-circuit protection with auto-recovery, up to 150 per cent overload capability, and over-voltage protection for the 100 and 150W models. The power supplies are designed with cooling by free air convection, for reliability and with a broad operating temperature range and long rated lifetime. All units shipped are subjected to aging tests and carry a three-year warranty.
All RS Pro models are CE and UL approved, and feature a universal AC input allowing operation from line voltages anywhere in the world. EN55022 Class-B EMC compliance, and isolation resistance up to 100-MOhm at 500V DC, simplify design-in to a variety of appliances, including medical equipment.
The RS Pro family of chassis-mount switched-mode power supplies is available now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
