RS Components adds Traco’s cost-effective DC/DC power converters

Space saving 1.0 and 2.0W modules from Traco Power are now available from RS Components.

The DC/DC converters are suitable for a range of applications, especially those that are cost critical and have strict space constraints, advises the distributor.

The TBA series of isolated DC-DC converters comprises four types of 1W and 2W DC/DC converters, each in an SIP. The converters are specifically designed to offer a low-cost solution with unregulated outputs, but with no concessions on quality or operational lifetime, says RS Components. The TBA series includes the TBA 1/1E/1HI 1W variants, and the TBA 2 series of 2W units.

The converters are based around a new design, claimed to improve on industry-standard features and deliver integrated and continuous short-circuit protection circuitry. Operating temperature ranges from –40 to +85 degrees C without derating, and I/O isolation of either 1500 or 3000V DC.

Input voltage selections are 5.0, 12 or 24V DC, as well as 3.3V for the TBA 1 series. Input tolerance is ±10 per cent with efficiencies up to 84 per cent.

There is a choice or SIP-4 or SIP-7 packages.

The Traco Power TBA series is shipping now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.

RS Components is a trading brand of Electrocomponents, offering more than 500,000 industrial and electronic products, sourced from over 2,500 suppliers. The distributor provides a wide range of value-added services to over one million customers. It has operations in 32 countries and ships more than 50,000 parcels a day.
