RS Components extends factory automation offering with HSM Networks
Industrial equipment networking options from RS Components now include products from the Anybus, Ewon and Ixxat brands by HMS Networks.
Products from the industrial information and communication technology specialist, HMS enable value creation from data for developers. They also support customers by increasing productivity, efficiency and sustainability, said RS. HMS has connected over seven million devices in factory automation and more than 400,000 machines to cloud systems worldwide. The Anybus, Ewon and Ixxat brands have been added to the RS factory automation and digitisation / industrial IoT (IIoT).
Anybus gateways enable automation devices to communicate with each other, regardless of fieldbus or industrial Ethernet. There are more than 300 different versions of the Anybus Communicator and the X-gateway for connecting devices, machines and networks, across a broad range of applications. Wireless data transmission can be implemented with Anybus Wireless so that machines and devices can be networked with each other via Bluetooth, WLAN or mobile communications.
Ewon’s remote maintenance products establish a secure connection to any PLC can be easily established. This enables both machine builders and machine users to access their machines and systems from anywhere in the world to configure and manage them, with access to status information. Remote access increases operational efficiency, said RS, because service technicians do not have to travel to remote locations. Products can be used for existing machines and systems (brownfield / retrofit), because communication can be made with any control, regardless of brand, without the need to change the programming of the PLC.
The Ixxat CAN and CAN FD products, such as PC interfaces, repeaters, bridges, gateways, and PLC extensions are described as robust and suitable for connecting a PC to CAN-based networks for control applications, diagnostics, or configuration.
