RS Components introduces SiC MOSFETs from ON Semiconductor

1200V MOSFETs from ON Semiconductor are now in stock at RS Components. The N-channel devices are based on silicon carbide (SiC) technology and support accelerated switching speeds (with rise times of as little as 10ns).

The MOSFETs have low RDS(on), down to 20mOhms and gate charge values which are claimed to be industry leading, making them subject to minimal power losses. The robust devices can cope with high current surge pulses and have a dielectric breakdown field strength that is an order of magnitude greater than for equivalent silicon MOSFETs, says RS. The operating temperature range is -55 to +175 degrees C.

The 1200V SiC MOSFET devices are supplied in compact TO247 packages and surface mount D2PAK. They are Pb−free and conform with RoHS environmental directives. They are also 100 per cent UIL tested.

The N-channel SiC MOSFETs are suitable for a range of applications, including uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), electric vehicle charging stations, DC/DC converters, motor control systems, and solar inverters. AEC Qualified variants are available.

The N-channel SiC MOSFETs are shipping now from RS Components in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.

RS Components is a trading brand of Electrocomponents, a global omni-channel partner for industrial customers and suppliers who are involved in designing, building or maintaining industrial equipment and facilities. The distributor stocks more than 500,000 industrial and electronic products, sourced from over 2,500 leading suppliers. It has operations in 32 countries, and trades through multiple channels and ships over 50,000 parcels a day.

Electrocomponents has six operating brands; RS Components, Allied Electronics & Automation, RS PRO, OKdo, DesignSpark and IESA.
