RSH2 series features 2W output in surface mount format

DC/DC converters in the RSH2 series from Recom, feature 2W output at high temperatures and are packaged in a surface mount format.

The compact, high efficiency DC/DC converters extend Recom’s DC/DC converter portfolio. The series comprises models with nominal inputs of 3.3V (2.8 to 5.5V), 5.0V / 9.0V (4.5 to 13.2V), 12V (9.0 to 18V), and 24V (18 to 36V). They are intended for battery or bus-powered systems. The output choices available are 3.3V, 5.0V, 12V, 15V and 24V. The DC/DC converters have short-circuit and over-current protection and meet EN 55032 class A or B limits for input noise with a simple external filter. No minimum load is required, and on/off control is standard.

The RSH2 series operates from -40 to +85 degrees C without derating. This wide temperature range makes the converters suitable for demanding industrial, test and measurement, and transport applications, advises Recom.

The isolation rating is 2kVDC/60s (optionally 3kV DC/60s) with UL / IEC / EN 62368-1 certification. The parts are RoHS-2 compliant.

The RSH2 series comes in a compact, lightweight DIP14 SMD case, and is available in tube or tape-and-reel packaging. The parts may be IR-oven or vapour-phase reflow soldered using industry-standard JEDEC profiles.

Matthew Dauterive, DC/DC Product Manager of Recom explains the surface mount DC/DC converters are particularly well-suited to generating isolated on-board power rails in mains and battery powered equipment. “The RSH2 will also find use in ground-loop isolation for industrial sensors and bus communication networks,” he said.

The RSH2 series is available through all authorised Recom distributors or directly from the manufacturer. Samples can be requested via the Recom website.

Recom Power manufactures a range of standard and customised DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class from sub-1W to tens of kW, alongside switching regulators and LED drivers in a wide selection of formats.

The company headquarters are located in Gmunden, Austria, and include a logistics research and development centre and laboratory wing. It is supported by a worldwide distribution network.
