Rugged computer is based on Intel Atom E3800 SoC

An industrial computer with a rugged enclosure and fanless performance, the SYS-ITX-N-3800 is the latest embedded computing platform from WinSystems. The SYS-ITX-N-3800 is a nano form factor embedded computing platform which delivers extended operating life, dual Ethernet and in-demand functionality for IIoT applications in compact package, says the company.

Based on the Intel Atom E-3800 processor, the space-saving packaged CPU operates reliably at the extended operating temperature range of -25 to +60 degrees C. Inside its 150 x 150 x 53mm rugged aluminium enclosure, there are processor and practical input/output (I/O) options. The SYS-ITX-N-3800 is engineered to satisfy diverse embedded system requirements in tight spaces and has been launched as the Nano-ITX companion to the STS-ITS-P-3800.

Processing performance matches Windows 10 IoT and Linux operating systems, enabling long product life cycle solutions for industrial IoT, energy management and medical designs.

The SYS-ITX-N-3800 supplies a complete system in a small form factor box that can be easily expanded or configured for different application requirements, explains WinSystems. It provides connectivity with two USB 3.0 host channels, an RS-232/422/485 serial port, VGA and DisplayPort. A half-size Mini-Card connector further extends expansion capabilities. The package also features +12V input power, includes a mounting kit for a 2.5 inch SATA SSD, and supports fanless operation. The computer is durable and built to deliver high-reliability performance within harsh operating environments, confirms WinSystems.

WinSystems offers consultation on embedded computer design and manufacturing to industrial networking. The company’s single board computers, embedded systems, I/O expansion modules and Ethernet switches are backed by a customer service and responsive technical support programme from knowledgeable application engineers at every step of the process.

WinSystems was founded in 1982. It designs and manufactures embedded single board computers (SBCs), I/O modules, panel PCs and industrial Ethernet switches that operate over extended temperatures for demanding requirements and harsh environments, including industrial IoT, industrial automation/control, transportation management, energy management, mil-COTS, medical, digital signage and communications applications.
