Rugged switches from C & K are available at TTI
Designed for outdoor use, including automotive door and boot locks and motorcycles, the IP67-sealed K12S series of switches by C & K is now available from TTI.
The specialist distributor of electronic components, says that the K12S series of switches is also suitable for agricultural machinery and vehicles and off-road transportation.
The K12S series design separates the electrical and mechanical functions of the switch for longevity and robustness. Switches are available in single pole, single throw (SPST) versions and dual pole, dual throw (DPDT) versions. The DPDT model meets all safety standards for demanding applications in medical, military, avionics and industrial equipment, adds TTI.
The K12S series features gold-plated, self-cleaning contacts with low contact resistance of less than 100mOhm, 100N overload resistance. They have double-step actuation and are robust, with a life cycle of one million actuations. These switches are low-profile when mounted on the PCB, simplifying integration into the design of complex sub-assemblies needing precise control, for example, joysticks, remote controls, vehicle cabins and forklift truck and crane controls, explains TTI. The K12S series switches are also compatible with the SMT lead-free soldering process.
The K12S series switches are illuminated, with a total travel of 1.5mm and a choice of operating forces – 3.0, 3.5, 5.0, 6.0, 9.0, 4/8 and 6/12N. An IP40 version is also available. The switches are supplied on reels of 900 pieces.
