Rutronik offers Swissbit 2.5-inch SATA SSDs

Distributor, Rutronik, offers Swissbit’s industrial-grade X-60 and X-600 Series 2.5-inch solid state disks (SSDs) for embedded and networking/communication applications.

The X-60 and X-600 2.5-inch SSDs are designed for applications that require reliable, long service life storage in a rugged and high density form factor (up to 960Gbyte).

The 6Gbit per second durabit SSDs from Swissbit use a DRAM-supported, page-based Flash translation layer (FTL), which is claimed to give them up to four times the reliability levels and data rates compared to conventional SSDs.

The Swissbit X-60 SATA 6Gbit per second durabit series uses multi-level cell (MLC) technology, and a powerful controller with DRAM supported FTL and enhanced over-provisioning for high-capacity markets.

The X-600 SATA 6Gbit per second series uses single-level cell (SLC) technology to provide maximum endurance, data retention, and performance, adds the company.

Both the X-60 and X-600 Series drives feature Swissbit’s proven Power Fail Safety, native command queuing (NCQ), wear levelling, and bad block management, and in-field firmware update functionality. Both series are supported by the Swissbit Life Time Monitoring Tool, which uses detailed Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (SMART)), enabling users to access detailed lifetime drive statistics, and allowing the prediction of imminent failure to avoid unexpected data loss.

Swissbit is the largest independent manufacturer of embedded memory and flash storage solutions in Europe. The company was created through a management buy-out from Siemens Semiconductor in 2001.

Rutronik is a global, privately held, broad-line, stocking distributor currently ranked as the third largest European electronic components distributor, and the eleventh largest worldwide, with annual sales of $1 billion.
