Samtec announces new ultra-fine pitch PCB connectors
Samtec has announced the immediate availability of its SS4/ST4 Series ultra micro printed circuit board (PCB) connectors that offer an ultra-fine 0.40 mm pitch, enabling maximum signal density at 28 Gbps NRZ performance. The SS4/ST4 PCB board-to-board mated set has the smallest overall footprint of Samtec’s Ultra Micro circuit board interconnect product line, yet it is extremely reliable in high data rate rugged environments such as automotive, industrial IOT, robotics, and military and aerospace.
Samtec’s SS4/ST4 mated ultra fine pitch board-to-board connector set has an operating temperature of -55 ˚C to +125 ˚C and high normal force, making it well suited for rugged environments. To lock the mating printed circuit boards (PCBs) in place or to assist in blind mating, SS4/ST4 can be used alongside Samtec’s SureWare™ precision board stacking standoffs. For inside-the-vehicle automotive applications, Samtec offers certified IATF 16949 Level 3 PPAP SS4/ST4 solutions.
The micro blade and beam contact system, which has a blade on one side and beam on the other, is mating and alignment friendly and enables higher density interconnects at high speeds. Built-in keying features also support proper connector mating and unmating.
SS4/ST4 offer a slim 4.35 mm (.171″) mated width for space savings on the PCB. A variety of catalog standard pin counts and stack height options allow design flexibility with quick delivery. Pin counts range from 20 to 100, and stack heights range from 4 mm to 6 mm. For pin counts from 20 to 160 at 56 Gbps PAM4, refer to Samtec’s SS5/ST5 0.50 mm pitch connectors.
