Sensirion introduces fourth generation humidity and temperature sensor
The SHT45 humidity and temperature sensor is part of Sensirion’s fourth generation humidity sensors, the SHT4x series. The SHT45 is claimed to offer the highest accuracy for humidity and temperature.
The sensor is suitable for high volume applications, said Sensiron. It is provided in tape and reel packaging and is suitable for standard surface mount assembly processes.
It is built using Sensirion’s CMOSens technology, offering low power consumption and high accuracy, said the company. CMOSens technology provides a complete sensor system on a single chip via a fully calibrated digital I2C fast mode with an interface.
The SHT45 covers operating ranges from 0 to 100 per cent RH and from -40 to +125 degrees C with accuracies of ± one per cent RH and ΔT = ± 0.1 degree C, ensuring long term stability and precision for reliable measurement, added Sensirion.
The extended supply voltage range of 1.08 to 3.6V and 400nA average current, means the SHT45 is suitable for demanding applications. It is housed in a small yet robust DFN packaging which enables integration into space-challenged designs. It is qualified to JEDEC JESD47 for reliability.
Sensirion develops and manufactures sensors and sensor solutions designed to improve efficiency, health, safety and comfort. The company was founded in 1998 and has its headquarters in Stäfa, Switzerland, together with international subsidiaries.
Sensirion sensors can be used to measure a range of environmental parameters and flow rates. The company said its aim is to make the world smarter with pioneering sensor technology. Its products meet the needs of customers and partners from the automotive, industrial, medical technology and consumer electronics markets, as well as high-quality products for cost-efficient mass production.
