Signal analyser has superior phase noise at higher frequencies, says Keysight
Providing superior phase noise performance at higher frequencies, the N9021B MXA X-series signal analyser also includes software that improves workflows while meeting 3GPP 5G new radio (NR) compliance standards, says Keysight Technologies.
As higher bandwidth technologies such as 5G NR move into the mainstream, engineers need tools for design validation and manufacturing that offer the accuracy, speed, and bandwidth to accelerate device development, reasons Keysight. The MXA X-series signal analyser offers an enhanced frequency sweep algorithm to accelerating test time improvements and provides radio frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave (mmWave) analysis to address devices such as wireless and satellite communications design verification and manufacturing. It has, claims Keysight, the widest analysis bandwidth in its class and superior phase noise performance at high frequencies
It also eliminates the complexity of challenging signals by combining real-time spectrum analyser (RTSA) with Keysight’s PathWave 89600 VSA software. The PathWave X-series measurement applications capture measurements and deliver repeatable results, adds the company.
Key features include a frequency range of 10Hz to 50GHz, meeting specification requirements for both 5G NR FR1 and FR2. There is also signal detection with extended analysis bandwidth up to 510MHz and better than 72dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR). It is also claimed to deliver best-in-class RF performance with a single sideband (SSB) phase noise -129dBc/Hz (1.0GHz, 10kHz offset) for better EVM measurements (5G NR EVM less than one per cent).
There is full-band real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA) to capture elusive or transient signals and fast, accurate signal and spectrum measurements to increase throughput and yield while minimising cost in 5G manufacturing, adds the company.
