Slim, fanless Mini-ITX motherboard glides into the IoT

The latest motherboard added to the Axiomtek portfolio is the MANO321. The thin Mini-ITX motherboard enables 5G and AIoT seamlessly, claims the company.

The fanless MANO321 is powered by the low power consumption Intel Celeron processor J6412 (codenamed Elkhart Lake). It is equipped with two 260-pin DDR4-3200 / 2666 / 2400 SO-DIMM slots for up to 32Gbyte of system memory. The low-profile design lowers the height of the board by 50 per cent, compared with the standard Mini-ITX form factor, confirms Axiomtek, for integration into IoT applications.

For 5G connection, the MANO321 has a SIM card slot and an M.2 Key B slot with USB 3.1 interface to add a 3042 / 3052 5G module. he connection. For display-related applications, the MANO321 supports triple-view with one HDMI 2.0, one VGA, and one LVDS. It also has HD codec audio.

The industrial motherboard provides one PCI Express Mini Card slot and one PCIe x4 slot with PCIe x2 signal for expansion.

The company’s MANO mini-ITX motherboards are deployed in industrial control applications and can be used for digital signage applications in retail and public transportation venues. The fanless MANO321 offers high computing power in a slim form factor and has graphics-rich performance, comments Kenny Lin, product manager of Axiomtek’s Product Planning division. “With 5G capability and its low latency, the MANO321 can make the IoT truly feasible in the manufacturing industry,” he says. The low profile design means it is suitable for use in limited space and where installation flexibility is required, he adds.

The MANO321’s I/O options include one SATA600 connector, two Gigabit Ethernet with support of wake-on-LAN and Boot ROM, four USB 3.1, four USB 2.0, six COM, 8-CH DIO, HDMI, VGA, LVDS, and one SMBus pin header. These options make the board ready for the industrial environment, says Axiomtek.

If users require more storage space, there is one mSATA and one SDHX slot. The M.2 Key B slot can also be compatible with SATA interface for 2242 SSD.

The Mini-ITX motherboard supports Linux and Windows operating systems. It also supports Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and includes a watchdog timer for optimal security.

The MANO321 is ready for purchase now.
