Smart TFT display module supports custom user interfaces

Built-in display features in the DWIN DMG72720T041-06WTC 4.1-inch TFT display module, aid and assist system integration, said Review Display Systems (RDS). The integrated module features an IPS (in-plane switching) TFT display with a built-in dual-core microcontroller-based ASIC, a touch controller and an integrated InCell capacitive touch panel.

The InCell PCap (projected capacitive) touchscreen is integrated within the LCD cell and facilitates the development and implementation of GUIs (graphical user interfaces), said RDS. The smart module implements a UART-based serial communications display interface that enables a simple yet cost-effective method of system integration, said RDS and supports the development of custom user applications without the need for any additional embedded electronics to drive the display.

The display module features a square 4.1-inch, IPS TFT LCD with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels, which enables wide viewing angles of 85 degrees in all directions (left / right, up / down), and supports 8-bit RGB data enabling a colour palette of up to 16.7million colours. A white LED backlight delivers a specified brightness rating of 400cd/m².

Manufacturer DWIN provides and supports a free PC-hosted software development tool, DGUS (DWIN Graphic Utilised Software) that enables custom GUIs to be created and developed. A pre-defined application development environment supports a range of graphic functions and library elements. User-defined images, icons, corporate branding, and logos can be uploaded to the development environment.

The development and implementation of graphical user interfaces are aided by the The 4.1-inch display module has outline mechanical dimensions of 82.8 x 79.1 x 6.0mm and an active display area of 73.98 x 73.98mm. Operating temperature range is -20 to +70 degrees C.

The display module also features 16Mbyte of onboard flash memory which enables graphics, icons, images, and text to be uploaded via the serial interface.

The DWIN DMG72720T041-06WTC display module can be configured to support GUIs for data entry, keypad access, remote control, security systems, smart home devices, equipment control and monitoring.

The display module is available now from Review Display Systems.
