Sulphur-resistant fixed resistor series is AEC-Q200-compliant

Sulphur-resistant, AEC-Q200-compliant thick film resistors are available in eight footprints from Bourns.

The Model CRxxxxA-AS chip resistor series’ footprints range from small 0201 (0603 metric) to 2512 (6432 metric) with rated power from 0.05 to 1.0W. The surface-mount chip resistors also feature a wide resistance range from 1.0 Ohm to 20 MOhms, for a variety of general-purpose applications.

The resistors are designed to operate in harsh environments with higher levels of sulphur contamination. They are manufactured using a thick film element printed onto a ceramic substrate and tested in accordance with ASTM B809-95 methods, which tests for the porosity of metallic coatings exposed to humid sulphur vapour.

The sulphur-resistant fixed resistors are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, adds Bourns. The Model CRxxxxA-AS chip resistor series is available now and joins the company other circuit conditioning components, including power inductors and rectifier diodes.

Bourns manufactures and supplies position and speed sensors, circuit protection solutions, magnetic components, microelectronic modules, panel controls and resistive products. The company is headquartered in Riverside, California, USA and serves a broad range of markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low/medium risk) and audio.
