Surface mount key switch illuminates with a tactile feel
Offering both illumination and haptic feedback, the K12S high brightness surface mount key switch in Cold White is the latest addition to the C&K range. It is available from Rutronik.
The illuminated key switch is adaptable for different application areas including joysticks, off-road transportation or automotive, says the distributor. It is robust for use in harsh environments, and particularly suitable for switching circuits with low current signal, continued Rutronik.
It has a tamper-proof design with off-centre actuation for user comfort. The switch is safe to operate even when wearing gloves and has a tactile feel. The design ensures that electrical and mechanical functions remain separate so that an overload of up to 10kg is manageable. The gold plating of the contacts makes them self-cleaning and extends the life of the switch to up to 1,000,000 operations. The surface mount switch for human machine interfaces (HMI) is RoHs-compliant and available in different versions.
The K12S key switch cold white is compatible with a lead-free surface mount soldering process and can be sealed to IP40 or IP67 for use in almost any industrial, automotive, or medical environment. It is also suitable for applications on motorbikes or other applications that have dedicated electrical circuitry for circuits requiring CAN-BUS, said Rutronik.
