TASKING completes the latest generation of BlueBox debuggers

TASKING has announced the hardware debuggers iC7pro and iC7max. Together with the iC7mini, which the company launched last year, the products form the latest generation of the BlueBox debuggers. They offer faster response times and improved performance for software development and enable a smoother GUI and API experience.

TASKING’s compiler toolchains – SmartCode for the Infineon TriCore AURIX TC4x family and the VX-Toolset for Arm v7.0 for the S32Z and S32E real-time processors from NXP Semiconductor, among others – enable connectivity to the hardware target via the iC7mini, iC7pro and iC7max. Both SmartCode and the VX-Toolset for Arm now include an Eclipse plugin that provides access to the powerful and versatile winIDEA IDE. A soon to be released compiler toolchain for RISC-V will also enable connection to the hardware target via the new debuggers.

As with the iC7mini, the new and improved ECU interface of the iC7pro and iC7max ensures that signal integrity is maintained even in the most demanding environments. Further improvements enable twice as fast continuous integration tests. The ability to work in a global development environment with remote debug farms has also been significantly improved. The three debuggers support all microcontrollers and SoCs commonly used in safety-critical automotive applications.

In addition to the features of the iC7mini, the iC7pro and iC7max add real-time trace capabilities. Additionally, the iC7max can be used for synchronous debugging and tracing on multiple SoCs, as well as monitoring the network between the SoCs.

The iC7mini from TASKING is already available, iC7pro and iC7max can be ordered immediately. TASKING will be presenting all three products at embedded world from April 9 to 11 at booth 255 in hall 4. In particular, the iC7pro will be used in a demo that demonstrates the use of winIDEA for trace-based timing tests on real and virtual targets. A Vector Microsar will be used on a TC399XE target board and on a Synopsys TC39x VDK Level-4 simulator (Synopsys Virtualiser).
