TCXOs are miniature and surface mountable, reveals Euroquartz
Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched a range of miniature surface mount temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) offering frequency stability from ±2.5ppm. The EM211T series offers frequencies from 10 to 60MHz with CMOS outputs in a miniature 2.0 x 1.36 x 0.7mm surface mount package. Standard output frequencies available are 12, 20, 24, 25, 26, 40, 50 and 60MHz.
The EM211T series oscillators are suitable for use in a wide range of applications where high accuracy is important with the miniature package, particularly embedded systems. With LVCMOS output into 15pF load, tolerances are available from ±2.5 to ±10ppm over the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C, and are frequency dependent. Typical single sideband (SSB) phase noise at 25 degrees C ranges between -85 and -154dBc / Hz for 50MHz frequency output.
Frequency stability specifications are ±1.0ppm maximum against ageing in the first year, ±0.3ppm maximum against voltage change for ± five per cent change, ±0.3ppm maximum against load change for ±10 per cent change and ±1.0ppm maximum against reflow (surface mount type) for one reflow, measured after 24 hours.
The TCXOs are housed in a standard format six-pad 2.0 x 1.36mm surface mount ceramic package with hermetically sealed metal lid. Power supply voltage options are 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V ± five per cent with current consumption of 8mA maximum at 3.3V.
Additional specifications include rise / fall time of 10ns maximum, duty cycle of 50 per cent ± five per cent as standard and output enable / disable function as standard. Initial calibration tolerance is less than ±2ppm at 25 degrees C ± two degrees C. Storage temperature range is -55 to +125 degrees C.
