TE Connectivity extends M12 range with right-angle connectors
Right-angled versions of TE Connectivity’s M12 portfolio are A-, B- and D-coded versions, which join the eight- and 12-pin position connectors for direct mounting onto PCBs and panels.
The M12 PCB right-angle connectors are offered in two-, five- and eight-position configurations for direct mounting to PCBs and panels. An integrated plastic mounting snap feature facilitates strong mechanical and electrical connections, says TE, saving PCB space and reducing installation costs and increasing productivity.
The new M12 connectors are UL-certified and meet IEC specifications, with an industry-standard interface which is compatible with a variety of sensors, switches and other industrial devices. The design provides IP67-level protection for industrial-grade sealing against ingress of dust and water at up to depths of one meter.
TE’s product manager, Ted Szarkowski, commented: “These latest connectors are easy to install and help to increase production efficiency and decrease installation cost in digital factories. Furthermore, lead times are short, thanks to local stock, low minimum order quantities and our worldwide sample services.”
Target applications for M12 connectors are in industrial automation, machinery, industrial Ethernet, sensors, and other areas where IP67 protection is needed.
