Thin film wraparound chip resistor has more case sizes, says Vishay Intertechnology
High precision, thin film, wraparound chip resistors for industrial, medical, military, and aerospace applications make up the Vishay Sfernice P2TC series. The resistors offer a temperature co-efficient of resistance (TCR) of ± two parts per million / degree over wider resistance and temperature ranges than competing devices, says Vishay, and in more case sizes with higher power ratings.
There are five case sizes available, from 0402 to 2010 and a wide resistance range of 100 to 3.05 MOhm and tolerances down to ± 0.01 per cent. The Sfernice P2TC resistors operate at temperatures between -55 to +155 degrees C. Power rating is 1W. They also have a low noise of less than -35dB, a low voltage co-efficient of less than 0.01 parts per million per V, and load-life stability of ± 0.05 per cent typical for 2,000 hours at +70 degrees C. As a result, the resistors’ specifications exceed the requirements of MIL-PRF-55342G.
The P2TC is optimised for precision applications requiring low noise and high stability over time and temperature. Typical applications are instrumentation, military and avionics guidance systems, load cell electronics in weighing systems, and operational amplifiers for test and measurement equipment.
The P2TC is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and sulphur-resistant per the ASTM B809-95 humid vapour test.
