Thin, tactile switch withstands harsh environments

Omron Electronic Components Europe has released a thin, sealed, surface mount tactile switch rated at one million operations.

The Omron B3SE is durable and has a height of just 2.0mm to maintain a slim profile on devices.

The button gives the user positive tactile feedback, contributing a quality feel to the user interface, adds Omron. The B3SE is a surface-mounting pin type, making it suitable for high-density mounting. The silver-plated switch is sealed conforming to IP67 (IEC 60529) standards providing high contact reliability in dusty environments and sealing against ingress of flux or fluids during manufacturing. The switch can withstand temperatures between -25 to +70 degrees C with no icing or condensation.

The B3SE targets applications such as instrumentation, factory automation, consumer electronics and white goods.

Omron Electronic Components Europe produces electromechanical PCB relays, as well as components such as micro switches, MOSFET relays, DIP switches, photo micro sensors and connectors. Omron’s portfolio also includes MEMS-based pressure, flow and thermal measurement sensors, human face and gesture recognition modules, vibration and tilt sensors.

Omron Electronic Components Europe supports customers through eight regional offices, a network of local offices and partnerships with specialist, local, regional and global distributors.

Omron Electronic Components Europe is a subsidiary of the Omron Corporation.
