Thin, wraparound chip resistors are AEC-Q200-qualified
Wraparound chip resistors introduced by Vishay Intertechnology are AEC-Q200-qualified and available in 1206 and 2512 case sizes.
The Vishay Dale thin film PHPA series devices combine power ratings of 1.0W in the 1206 case size and 2.5W in the 2512 model. They have a self-passivated tantalum nitride film to enhance moisture resistance.
The chip resistors can be used in automotive power supplies, braking systems, on-board chargers, motor deflection circuits and industrial test and measurement equipment. They combine high power ratings with low absolute temperature co-efficient of resistance (TCR) down to ± 25ppm / degree C and tolerances down to ± 0.1 per cent.
The PHPA series devices offer a resistance range from 10 Ohm to 30.1kOhm, low noise of less than -30 dB, low voltage co-efficients of less than 0.1 ppm/V, and a working voltage of 200V. The resistors also have a high purity ceramic substrate and enlarged backside terminations to reduce the thermal resistance between the topside resistor layer and the solder joint on the PCB.
The resistors are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and flame-resistant in accordance with UL 94 V-0. They operate over a wide temperature range of -55 to +155 degrees C.
