Touchscreen industrial panel PCs are for factory management
Industrial panel PCs for machine automation, data management and web terminal applications make up the TPC-100W series from Advantech.
The TPC-100W panel PCs are rugged, compact, fanless panel PCs equipped with an NXP Arm Cortex-A53 i.MX 8M Mini quad-core (1.6GHz) processor, 2Gbyte DDR4 RAM and 16Gbyte of eMMC storage.
They are available in three display sizes (seven, 10.1 and 15.6 inches) and support Linux Yocto and Android operating systems.
In addition to a true-flat front panel with p-cap multi-touch control, the TPC-100W series feature a serial port equipped with a 120 Ohm termination resistor that supports the CAN 2.0 protocol and offers a programmable bit rate of up to 1Mbit per second.
Wireless communication technologies, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are via a mini PCIe interface which simplifies networking and ensures real time connectivity for data transmissions. To eliminate the need for power infrastructure, the TPC-100W series PCs are also equipped with power over Ethernet (PoE). They also support both VESA and panel mounting for installation according to usage requirements.
They are designed for operation in harsh industrial environments, with a wide operating temperature range of -20 to +60 degrees C. They are also IP66 rated for protection from dust, oil and water ingress.
TPC-100W supports various OS, including Android 10 and Linux Yocto 3.0 with GUI toolkits, Qt WebBrowser, and OPC UA, eliminating software porting, said Advantech. It is also installed with Android OS which supports the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF), an open-source software framework for embedding a Chromium web browser within another application. Developers can therefore add web browsing functionality to applications and to use HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript to create the user interface, simplifying programming and accelerating development.
Connectivity for web-based management (Bluetooth or wi-fi) is via a mini PCIe interface. There is also a LAN port that offers speeds of up to 1,000Mbits per seconds to accelerate data transfer rates. Network connectivity allows TPC-100W to be used for real time data visualisation to optimise production operations, said Advantech. Support for optional PoE functionality means the TPC-100W panel PCs can be deployed as single cable solutions in difficult environments and enabling remote management and control for diverse IoT applications.
