TTI adds Eaton supercapacitor module to linecard
Eaton’s XLR-48 supercapacitor module delivers high power density to optimise energy consumption, says distributor TTI. It delivers high reliability, high power and high capacitance energy storage, making it suitable as the sole energy storage device or in combination with batteries in hybrid or electric vehicles to optimise cost, lifetime and runtime, says TTI. It has a 20-year product lifetime with millions of cycles.
The Eaton XLR-48 supercapacitor module uses electrochemical double-layer capacitor (EDLC) construction, and low ESR for high power density. The XLR-48 offers design lifetime up to 20 years, with millions of charge/discharge cycles throughout the life of the application.
The module’s heavy duty metal housing is robust and suitable for high vibration, high current uses. An IP65 rating means the device is water jet washable, while an industry-standard form factor enables easy integration into multiple applications. The XLR-48 is manufactured using environmentally-friendly materials for a green power solution.
The wide operating temperature range means the Eaton XLR-48 supercapacitor energy storage device suits a range of environments and types of installation location, including: hybrid and EVs, grid storage, commercial vehicles (trucks, mining equipment, construction vehicles), underground rail and marine applications.
