TTI Europe announces availability of TE’s MULTIGIG RT 2 backplane connectors
TTI has announced immediate stock availability of the MULTIGIG RT 2 family of backplane connectors from TE Connectivity. This provides engineers with a robust, scalable solution for high-speed embedded computing in demanding environments. Typical applications include avionics, defence electronics (C4ISR), space systems, and high-performance industrial systems.
The MULTIGIG RT 2 connectors, widely adopted for VITA 46 VPX systems, deliver 10Gbps data rates with a lightweight, pinless design that enhances durability and simplifies handling. The MULTIGIG RT 2R takes ruggedisation to the next level, featuring a quad-redundant contact system that improves resistance to vibration and wear with durability of 500 cycles, as proven by extensive environmental testing under VITA 72 standards. This makes the MULTIGIG RT 2R an ideal drop-in replacement for legacy VPX systems, offering reliability without sacrificing backward compatibility. For applications demanding even higher data rates, TTI Europe now also stocks the MULTIGIG RT 2S, supporting 16Gbps performance, and the MULTIGIG RT 3, which is designed for 32Gbps operation.
TE Connectivity will shortly release the MULTIGIG RT 4, targeting 56Gbps data rates, and the MULTIGIG HD, which will support up to 112Gbps and selected as the new VITA 100 standard. These connectors address the growing demand for bandwidth in next-generation embedded computing systems.
