TTI introduces Mean Well’s bi-directional power supplies with energy recycle
The BIC-2200 bi-directional AC/DC power supplies that have been developed by Mean Well to include an energy recycle function are now available from TTI.
The BIC-2200 series 2.2kW bi-directional power supplies exhibit 93 per cent efficiency for both AC to DC and DC to AC conversion.
The single, compact unit can deliver AC grid power to DC for charging purposes, but when it needs to be discharged, it converts the DC energy back to the AC grid. This bi-directional capability from a single, compact power supply fulfils the size, weight, performance and cost (SWaP-C) needs for manufacturers of battery formation and test equipment, vehicle to -grid (V2G) systems, EV charging stations, industrial laser equipment, and kinetic recovery systems, confirmed TTI.
The power supplies also have built-in functions like active current sharing, remote on/off control and CANBus mode. Discharge timing can be programmed to achieve peak-shaving and valley-filling, which reduces electricity costs during the charging process.
“The BIC-2200 bidirectional power supplies enable us to help our customers reduce overall costs and, more importantly, lower maintenance costs and improve system reliability,” commented said Ros Kruger, technical marketing director, TTI Europe.
