TTI stocks Kemet’s hi-V ceramic capacitors

Kemet’s high voltage C0G ceramic capacitors are now in stock at distributor, TTI. The ceramic capacitors have a high ripple current capability, low inductance and ESR versus frequency.

Kemet expanded its commercial and automotive grade high voltage C0G ceramic capacitors to meet the new inverter and DC/DC converter designs that are increasing use of wide band power semiconductors in power electronics applications, where greater power density, voltage, current and frequency are required.

The capacitors are now available in Europe through TTI. The Kemet capacitor ranges target new generation power electronics used for alternative energy applications, says TTI, while the automotive grade series meets the demanding Automotive Electronics Council’s AEC-Q200 qualification requirements.

Kemet’s patented high reliability base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system is 100 per cent lead (Pb) -free, RoHS- and REACH-compliant without exemptions. The devices are claimed to have industry-leading CV values, high volumetric capacitance with low leakage current and high thermal stability.  Low inductance and ESR versus frequency allows for very high ripple current capability.

Case size options are 2824, 3040, 3640, and 4540 to increase capacitance up to 150nF with voltages up to 2,000V.  A SnPb-plated termination finish option is available upon request (five per cent Pb minimum).

Applications for the Kemet high voltage C0G ceramic capacitors include switch-mode power supplies, high voltage coupling and DC blocking, lighting ballasts, voltage multiplier circuits, DC/DC converters and coupling capacitors in Cuk converters.

TTI is a Berkshire Hathaway company. It is an authorised, specialty distributor of interconnect, passive and electromechanical (IP&E) components, serving industrial and consumer electronics manufacturers worldwide. Globally, the company maintains two million cubic feet of dedicated warehouse space containing over 850,000 component part numbers. Along with its subsidiaries, Mouser Electronics, Sager Electronics, and Symmetry Electronics, TTI employs over 5,400 employees and is represented in over 100 locations throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
