TVS diode protects and is AEC-Q101-qualified
Sensitive electronics can be protected by the Model 15KPA-SD-Q transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode series, announced by Bourns. The diodes are designed for use in DC bus clamping applications. They are AEC-Q101- compliant for high reliability in power supplies and equipment used in harsh environments.
The Model 15KPA-SD-Q series operates from high peak pulse power (10/1000 micro seconds) rating of 15kW and high peak pulse current (eight or 20 microseconds) rating of 1kA. The protection components also feature lower clamping voltage under surge, performance stability and increased reliability compared to competing metal oxide varistor (MOV) technology.
The Bourns Model 15KPA-SD-Q Series comes in a surface-mount DO-218AB package suitable for automated pick and place assembly and reflow processes.
Manufacturing production costs can be reduced and PCB assembly is simplified using surface-mount components compared to similar products with traditional through-hole packages, says Bourns.
The Model 15KPA-SD-Q series are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
Bourns manufactures and supplies position and speed sensors, circuit protection solutions, magnetic components, microelectronic modules, panel controls and resistive products.
The company is headquartered in Riverside, California, USA. Bourns serves a range of markets, including automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low/medium risk) and audio market segments.
