Vicor extends operating temperature of ZVS buck-boost regulator

The PI3740 ZVS buck-boost regulator is now available from Vicor, with an extended operating temperature range of -55 to +115 degrees C. It is also available in an optional tin-lead BGA packaging.

The PI3740 is a high-density and high-efficiency buck boost regulator with an 8.0 to 60V input voltage range. It supports output voltages from 10 to 50V.

It offers up to 140W in a 10 x 14mm SiP, although higher power delivery can be achieved with additional devices in parallel, advises Vicor. The ZVS switching topology also enables efficiency as high as 96 per cent.

The P13740 ZVS family consists of the PI3740-00-LGIZ in an LGA and PI3740-00-BGIZ in a BGA package, both operating at -40 to +115 degrees C and the -55 to +115 degrees C temperature range PI3740-00-BGMZ in a BGA package and the PI3740-00-BGMP, offered in a BGA-tin lead package.
