Wago offers online configuration of PCB terminal blocks and connectors

PCB terminal blocks and connectors can now be configured quickly and reliably, says Wago, using the smartDesigner online configurator. The company has expanded smartDesigner, used for rail-mount terminal block designs, to bring time-saving convenience to PCB applications.

PCB designers can used smartDesigner to assemble custom PCB terminal blocks and connectors. Pin spacing, colour coding and pinning are selected by simply clicking check boxes. The configurator‘s plausibility check detects potential configuration errors early. Wago product labeling can be configured according to customer requirements and output to a marking printer via interfaces.

“Further developing the online configurator for PCB terminal blocks and connectors has made the tool even more user-friendly for our customers,” said Viktor Dick, product manager PCB terminal blocks at Wago. Configuring customised PCB terminal block and connector variants is fast and intuitive, he continued, “allowing us to take the next logical step toward a fully automated ordering process”.

The online configurator is intuitive to use. A custom terminal block/connector assembly can be configured with a few mouse clicks and then be ordered directly with just one item number, for a streamlined purchasing process. The configurator also provides 3D design data that can be seamlessly imported into a CAE program for CAD.

The Wago Group is an international, standard-setting supplier of electrical interconnection and automation products and interface electronics. The family-run company specialises in spring pressure connection technology.
